Quartier Moscato NV
Tasting Notes

Vineyard

Quartier means neighbourhood in French and the Quartier varietals are a celebration of diverse terroirs on the Mornington Peninsula and beyond. The NV Quartier Moscato is made from Moscato Giallo (Yellow Muscat) grown in the Heathcote region of Victoria. Moscato Giallo, which hails from Northern Italy, is a preferable variety of Muscat due to its intense perfume, deep flavour and excellent structure.

Winemaking

The grapes were hand picked and gently whole-bunch pressed to tank, where fermentation commenced without inoculation. Fermentation was arrested midway to maintain the wine’s natural sweetness and carbonation.

Wine Analysis

Alcohol – 5.5%

Tasting Note – May 2015

Pale yellow in colour, the nose offers punchy aromatics of lemon sherbet, spice and Turkish delight. In the mouth, flavours of lemon drop and honey, along with the texture and lushness from the residual sugar, are balanced attractively with a tight acidity and light carbonation.
